Estimating Terrestrial Radiation for Human Thermal Comfort in Outdoor Urban Space
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cities inadvertently create warmer and drier urban climate conditions than their surrounding areas through urbanization that replaces natural surfaces with impervious materials. These changes cause heat-related health problems many studies suggest microclimatic design (MUD) as an approach to address these problems. In MUD-related research, although terrestrial radiation plays important role in human thermal comfort previous use models identify heat stress, few have addressed the effect of radiation. This study develops ground ratio factor (GRF) model estimate different according conditions. Three types materials (asphalt, concrete, grass) were considered model, field conducted humid subtropical (Cfa) zone during hot season (13 July 19 September 2020). The was validated by comparing predicated (PTR) from actual (ATR). results showed there is a statistically significant strong correlation between PTR ATR. can contribute MUD strategies updating existing energy budget models, which lead measurement more accurate for mitigating environments.

Analysing Human Outdoor Thermal Comfort and Open Space Usage with the Multi-agent System Botworld
Attractive public open spaces can serve as key design elements for enhancing life quality in urban areas and to diminish the negative effects of urbanisation. In order to fulfil this task, open spaces must meet the expectation of potential users and offer the right mix of environmental, economic and social conditions. It is well known that the local microclimate belongs to the main factors driv...
متن کاملOutdoor thermal comfort and urban design in warm-humid Guayaquil, Ecuador
Deteriorated urban microclimate and poor outdoor thermal comfort is an increasing problem in cities in the tropics due to the combined effect of urban and global warming. Microclimate measurements (wind speed, air temperature and humidity, and globe temperature) were carried out in different parts of the warm-humid city Guayaquil, Ecuador. Simultaneously about 400 persons were asked for their s...
متن کاملThermal Comfort in Outdoor Urban Spaces: analysis across different European countries
This paper presents some of the findings of the European project, RUROS, primarily concerned with the environmental and comfort conditions of open spaces in cities. The results of the microclimatic and human monitoring, in relation to the thermal environment and comfort conditions in open spaces are presented. The database consists of nearly 10,000 from field surveys in 14 different case study ...
متن کاملOutdoor Thermal Comfort in a Transitional Space of Canopy in Schools in the UK
There has been a significant increase in opportunities to improve school environments in the UK. There has, however, been little study on the design of sheltered transitional spaces, despite growing architectural demand for this, examples of which can be easily found in most primary schools in the UK. Computer simulations (Rayman, Ecotect and Winair4) were performed to identify the influence of...
متن کاملOutdoor thermal comfort in public space in warm-humid Guayaquil, Ecuador
The thermal environment outdoors affects human comfort and health. Mental and physical performance is reduced at high levels of air temperature being a problem especially in tropical climates. This paper deals with human comfort in the warm-humid city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. The main aim was to examine the influence of urban micrometeorological conditions on people's subjective thermal perceptio...
